Vinnie O’Hora, a resident of Treenagleragh, Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo, passed away peacefully on March 5th, 2026, following a short illness. He was 93 years old and surrounded by his family although in the care of St. John’s Unit of Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar.
A Life Remembered
Mr. O’Hora was predeceased by his wife, Anne (Healy), his parents James and Alice O’Hora, daughters baby Patricia and Ailish, and numerous siblings including Liam, Nathy, Paddy, Louis, Jimmy, Joe, Aiden (Fr Cormac), Frank, Kathleen, Sr Mary James, and Margaret (Gilmartin).
He is survived by his children Kathleen (Feerick), Sinead (Tierney), Louise, Vincent, and Padraig, as well as sons-in-law Brendan and Pat, daughter-in-law Louise (McNicholas), and grandchildren Luke, Éabha, Amélie, and Eli. He is also remembered by his sister-in-law Christine, brother-in-law Martin, and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, and friends.
A period of repose will be held at O’ Hora’s Funeral Home, Main Street, Kiltimagh, F12Y1F7, on Sunday evening from 5pm to 8pm. Removal to the Church of the Holy Family, Kiltimagh, is scheduled for 8.15pm.
The Mass of the Resurrection will take place on Monday at 12 noon, followed by burial in Kilkinure Cemetery, Kiltimagh. The Funeral Mass can be viewed online at www.kiltimaghparish.org.
