In today’s hearing, Dirjen Penyelenggaraan Haji and Umrah (PHU) of Indonesia’s Ministry of Religion (Kemenag), Hilman Latief, introduced a new proposal of Rp 89.666.469,26 for the Biaya Penyelenggaraan Ibadah Haji (BPIH) costs for the upcoming pilgrimage. This new figure is a significant drop from the previously suggested Rp 93.3 million.

Breaking down the new proposal, the Bipih (biaya haji yang dibayar jemaah, or the fee paid by pilgrims) is Rp 55.593.201,57, making up 62% of the total BPIH, with the remaining 38% being the allocated value (nilai manfaat) for the pilgrims.

Initially, Hilman had revealed the total BPIH to be IDR 89 million, which is a decrease from the government’s initial proposal of IDR 93 million.

"As a result, we are announcing the BPIH figure for this occasion to be IDR 89,666,469.26," Hilman said.

The PHU director explained that the pilgrim fee, also known as the Disbursement of Hajj Cost (Bipih), is proposed to be IDR 55 million. With this calculation, the net gain is IDR 34,073,267 with a Bipih percentage of 62% and a net gain percentage of 38%.
