Cameron Young, Russell Henley, Chris Gotterup, and Wyndham Clark—ranked Nos. 3, 5, 7, and 9 respectively—anchor the top tier of competitors. Open champion. Eight players from the top 20 of the world rankings are committed to the Detroit Golf Club event.
The tournament gains added star power from Brooks Koepka, Xander Schauffele, and Jordan Spieth. According to tournament announcements, all three players are making their Detroit debuts. Meanwhile, Michael Kim joins the field following a performance at the 3M Open in Minnesota, where the 33-year-old carded a 59 in the second round to become the 15th PGA Tour player to hit that score or lower.
Past Champions Returning to Detroit
Ten previous major winners will tee it up in the Motor City, alongside four previous tournament champions. Aldrich Potgieter returns to defend the title he won in 2025. Cam Davis, who secured victories in 2024 and 2021, joins past winners Rickie Fowler (2023) and Tony Finau (2022).
Davis stands as the event’s only two-time winner. He claimed the 2024 tournament on the final hole following a collapse by runner-up Akshay Bhatia, according to tournament records. Bhatia is also returning for the final Rocket Classic.
