"Terkait merebaknya kasus flu A dan juga virus HMPV di Tiongkok, saat ini belum ditemukan kasusnya di Indonesia," kata Juru Bicara Kemenkes Widyawati dalam keterangannya, Minggu (5/1/2025).

Influenza tipe A, khususnya varian H5N1, pernah terjadi di Indonesia pada periode 2005-2017. Namun, sejak 2018 tidak ada laporan kasus baru pada manusia. Sedangkan untuk varian H5N6 dan H9N2, beberapa kasus dilaporkan terjadi di Tiongkok, tetapi kedua varian itu belum pernah dilaporkan terjadi di Indonesia.

Berdasarkan data dari Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO), penyebaran virus HMPV dan influenza tipe A masih terbatas di wilayah China. Kemenkes juga terus melakukan pemantauan melalui surveilans dan pelaporan terhadap penyakit infeksi emerging atau penyakit menular jenis baru.
