He noted that they would now proceed to specific military branches for further training, including infantry, cavalry, artillery, and engineering, for the next 1.5 months. Zamroni emphasized that these new officers have received a solid foundation in military education and are prepared to make personal sacrifices for their nation.

"The most important thing is to keep upgrading your professional skills. Become a true soldier, one who is prepared, disciplined, and courageous," Zamroni advised the graduates. He believes that these young officers are equipped with the intellectual capabilities, intelligence, and personalities befitting soldiers, continuing the legacy of the Indonesian military.

Zamroni further expressed his hopes for the newly minted officers. "I hope that they can continue to guard the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia and that they can uphold the values of professionalism, people’s soldiering, and being a true fighter," he said.

In a separate address, Zamroni stressed the importance of upholding the integrity of the recruitment process for future bintara. "Every recruitment is free of charge. If we find out someone paid and passed, we’ll scratch them off the list. We’re confident in their capabilities," he stated clearly.

The Pangdam IX/Udayana reminded the public that all information regarding recruitment can be found on the official Kodam IX/Udayana website. He warned against individuals making false promises to secure recruitment for a fee, urging anyone encountering such tactics to report them accordingly.

The incident, which took place on January 2, 2025, left one person dead.

In a press conference held at the headquarters of the Indonesian Navy’s Fleet Command, Jakarta, on Monday (January 6, 2025), Vice Admiral Sasmita initially stated that the three Navy personnel—Sergeant First Class (Sertu) AA, Sertu RH, and Corporal BA—have been apprehended. "The three individuals have been handed over to us, and we have received the arrest warrant dated January 4, 2025," he said.

As the investigation is ongoing, the three personnel have not yet been officially named as suspects. However, Sasmita confirmed that they have since been designated as suspects due to the availability of evidence.

When asked about the specific articles of the law they might be facing, Sasmita refrained from providing details. The three Navy personnel have been in custody for 20 days as of now. "The initial 20-day detention has begun, signaled by the signing of the arrest warrant," he explained.

Earlier, the Commander of the Indonesian Navy’s Fleet Command (Pangkoarmada RI), Admiral Hendrata, provided a brief timeline of the events leading to the fatal shooting. According to him, the three Navy personnel were involved in an altercation at the same location on the night of January 2, 2025, around 8:00 PM. The incident started as a case of carjacking involving approximately 15 unidentified individuals, which escalated into a shooting, resulting in one fatality and one injury.

The altercation stemmed from a dispute related to the purchase of a vehicle. One of the sailors is confirmed to have fired the lethal shots. "The incident was caused by a dispute over a car purchase, and one of our personnel is confirmed to have fired the shots, resulting in one fatality and one injury," Hendrata said.

The three Navy personnel involved include Sergeant First Class AA, Sergeant First Class RH, and Corporal BA, who were assigned to the Pangkalan Pondok Dayung base in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

Tangerang Suspect Named in Rental Boss’s Killing

Upon the rented car dealer’s unfortunate demise in a rest area along the Tangerang-Merak Toll Highway in Jayanti, Tangerang Regency, Banten, a suspect has been dubbed Ajat Supriatna, alias AS, aged 32. This incident transpired a few days back, with two military personnel being held accountable.

The Tol Tangerang-Merak highway in Banten witnessed a tragic turn of events when a rented car boss was fatally shot during the early morning hours of January 2nd. The killing occurred at Rest Area KM 45, leading to the death of IAR (aged 48). The investigation uncovered that Ajat rented the car from the tragic boss.

Ajat, who has been identified as the prime suspect in the case, is currently being held for a planned vehicle theft, said IPda Purbawa, the head of the Tangerang Police Public Relations Bureau. In addition, two military personnel have been detained by the Naval Military Police (Puspomal) as part of the ongoing investigation into the fatal shooting.

The total number of detainees stands at four, two of whom are believed to be military personnel. The further whereabouts of two other alleged suspects from the military remain under investigation, and the police are coordinating their actions with Puspomal for more thorough interrogation.

Additionally, a suspect named ‘I’ has been apprehended, suspected of assisting Ajat in the vehicle theft. The surveillance around the rest area is being amplified to find any more potential suspects.

Earlier, the fatal shooting of the car dealer and another person occurred at Rest Area KM 45 on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Highway in Banten. As of now, one person, the rental car boss, has been reported to have succumbed to his injuries.

Following the death, suspects Ajat Supriatna and ‘I’ were arrested in Pandeglang, Banten. The arrested individuals included a military personnel involved in the case, which is currently under investigation by the Naval Military Police.
