20 year break! Drakoni soloist Ewert Sundja revealed why they participate in Estonian Song – TV3

Ewert Sundja last participated in the Estonian song 20 years ago. “The year of the dragon will start soon and the stars have settled. This was essentially the only reason why we participated. We never had the goal of writing something specifically for the Estonian song, but we prepared the song in that moment and somehow it just happened and here we are,” Forced explains, as Ewert and the two dragons entered the competition.

Ewert also participates in Eesti Laulu with another song with the band Cartoon. “They are very different stories and I had a very important role in making both of them. Fortunately, they are radically different in the context of the sound image, they will not cannibalize each other,” Sundja told the “Stuudio” program.

“Why not? It’s a wonderful opportunity to go on the big stage, perform sweet songs for yourself and someone will finally get to Eurovision!” explains Inga why she decided to participate in the competition again. The singer has already participated in the Estonian Song Contest 5 times and her song “What day” is one of the most successful songs to come out of the competition.

Inga has previously also been part of La La Ladies and LULU, but today she is cultivating a successful solo career. What’s the easiest way to get known? “There are different moments when one or the other works better. As a band I have the opportunity to learn a lot. The responsibility is shared and everything else, but it’s easier when you’re alone, because you do it alone just and make your own decisions and things will go faster,” he admits.

Drakoni bassist Ivo Etti has already been to Eurovision once in 2003 with Vaiko Eplik. “They only remember fragments of it!” admits and adds that the band didn’t even know that Ewert would also enter the competition with another song.

All the musicians admit that of course the promotional element that accompanies the Estonian song is important, but they also have just as much desire to actually go to Eurovision. At the same time, they released their favorite songs this year, which are 5MINIUNE and Puuluubi’s song and Ollie’s song.
