75% of employers struggle to find the right people

ManpowerGroup’s quarterly survey surveyed more than 40,000 employers in 41 countries to find out their hiring plans and labor market expectations for the first quarter of this year. Global hiring intentions can be considered to have an economic-political impact on future valuations of companies. 54% of employers say they need to develop technical skills to keep up with the green revolution. Globally, the biggest recruiting needs continue to be in the IT and finance sectors, and it is also difficult to find engineers. Companies around the world are currently reporting slightly lower hiring intentions in the manufacturing and logistics sectors.

“According to the same study, ten years ago, 36% of employers had difficulty finding suitable specialists, now it is 75,” said Heigo Kaldra, head of Manpower Baltics. “The survey still shows optimistic recruitment activity, but it also reflects the fact that the current and future workforce no longer meets expectations. Employers’ assumptions are often unrealistic: they are looking for people who know and can do everything, they are experts in their field, know technologies and have excellent personality traits “Unfortunately, there are no such people on the job market who are bored and waiting for offers, they need to be developed and trained by the organizations themselves, which requires a fundamentally different attitude” , Kaldra added.
