A big strike is coming to Finnish airports. Airports will remain closed for several days

The strike affects a wide range of air transport workers, starting from airport cleaners, restaurants, cabin crew and security services. Airport workers are joining a nationwide political strike demanding the government withdraw proposed labor market reforms.

The Automobile and Transport Industry Union has announced that the truck sector, bus sector, travel agencies and Viking Line workers will also participate in the strike. The strike affects around 160 companies and over 20 thousand workers. Express flights will continue despite the strike.

The service sector union also announced a strike. The strike on February 1 will involve Finland’s largest retail chains, several hotels and restaurants, transport stations and real estate and cleaning companies across Finland. The strike affects tens of thousands of workers.
