Representatives of WRC promoters Felipe McGough and Omar Avila met with Paraguayan President Santiago Peña and local promoters Francisco Peron and Gustavo Saba in the country’s capital, Asuncion, this week. During the meeting, the project for the World Series stop in Paraguay was discussed.
The local promoter aims to host a World Series stop for the first time in 2025.
“As a nation, we have already demonstrated that we are capable of organizing high-level international competitions,” the Paraguayan president commented on social media.
In 2023, two Paraguayan drivers competed in the World Championship. Fabrizio Zaldivar drove a Hyundai Rally2 car in the WRC2 class and Diego Dominguez finished second in both the WRC3 and Junior WRC classes in a Ford Fiesta Rally3.
