A tourist tax will soon be introduced on the beloved Indonesian island

The aim of introducing the tourism tax is to contribute to the conservation and continuation of the island’s unique cultural heritage, whilst strengthening the island’s commitment to sustainable tourism.

From 14 February 2024, international visitors to Bali will be charged a one-time tourist tax of IDR 150,000 (about 8.7 euros). Passengers are advised to pay the tax via the Love Bali website or app before arriving on the island. Upon payment, a tourist tax voucher will be emailed to you and tourists will need to save it on their smartphone to scan at Bali Airport and Port checkpoints.

Some visa categories are exempt, such as diplomatic and official visa holders, transport personnel, and gold and student visa holders.
