LTG Link, the passenger transport company of the Lithuanian Railways Group, has received the safety certificate for its operations in Latvia from the European Union Railway Agency. Direct trains from Vilnius to Riga start running every day, departing from Vilnius in the morning and from Riga in the afternoon.

The certificate officially confirms that LTG Link is ready to organize an international rail connection between Lithuania and Latvia and that the company’s team has the necessary skills to operate and maintain trains on the Latvian railway infrastructure.

“The international certificate is like a permit for passenger transportation in Latvia. To offer our customers the first trip to Riga on December 27, we have constantly consulted and coordinated with Latvian Railways on technical and operational aspects,” he stated LTG Link CEO Gediminas Šečkus in a press release.

The route offered by LTG Link is convenient for those planning one-day business trips from Lithuania to Latvia.

The train leaves Vilnius daily at 6.30am, from Kaišiadory at 7.14am, from Šiauliai at 8.51am and from Joniškis at 9.30am. The train arrives in Jelgava, Latvia at 10:06 and Riga Central Station at 10:43. The train leaves Riga every day at 3.28pm and arrives in Vilnius at 7.51pm.

LTG Link will start selling tickets for the Vilnius-Riga passenger rail line on Monday 18 December.
