An Iranian shopkeeper has been sentenced to two years in prison for posting photos without headgear

Zeinab Khenyab Pour was sentenced to two years in prison, HRANA, an agency that collects news related to human rights activists in Iran, reported. The decision was announced by the woman’s representative, Sajjad Chatr Sefid. The court hearing regarding Pour’s charge took place on October 9. Previously, an Iranian court had sentenced the woman to three months in a separate investigation.

Khenyab Pouri’s clothing shop in Tunamullu was closed on December 5 while it took part in a strike in the city, part of a nationwide wave of protests sparked by the beating to death of Mahsa Amin, a young woman walking down the street without mandatory headgear. , by the Iranian riot police.

Khenyab Pour sought further clarification from the authorities after the store closed. Soon he was taken to Sepidar prison in the city of Ahvaz.
