In addition to the Oscar nominees, the nominees for the worst film of the year, or Golden Raspberry Awards, were revealed this week. The action film “Mercenaries 4” received the most nominations. Marvel’s Ant-Man: Quantum of Solace also received nominations, making history by becoming the first Marvel film to receive a Golden Raspberry Award nomination.
“Expend4bles,” which garnered the most nominations, received seven nominations. In second place are the horror films “Vaimude iväajaja: Usklik” and “The Bear from Pooh” with five nominations. slasher “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey”.
The superhero films “Shazam! The Wrath of the Gods” and “Ant Man & The Wasp: Quantumania” each received four nominations.
What’s notable about “Ant-Man” is that it became the first Marvel film to be nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award. The supporting roles of Michael Douglas and Bill Murray were both rated among the worst of the year. Additionally, the film received nominations in the worst sequel and director (Peyton Reed) categories.
Initially, Marvel expected the film to become the highest-grossing “Ant-Man” film, but it turned out to be the opposite. One of the biggest problems with the film, besides the terrible acting, are also the special effects.
The Golden Raspberries will be awarded on the eve of the Academy Awards, March 9th.
