Ant Nurhan: Father Didn’t Consider Music Career as a Real Job | Music

Last Sunday, Ant Nurhan became Estonia’s ninth superstar. Nurhan kept her ambition to become a musician and singer hidden for a long time because her father didn’t consider it a real career.

According to Nurhan, the other finalists Margareth Mürgi and Robin Kristofer Kuke also had the x-factor. “Until now, I think everyone is a talented singer and guy. Everyone had a chance, but I won,” Nurhan laughed.

The end of the show was very emotional. “It was necessary. Three months of hard work. It’s still tiring. /…/ After I won and we made winning history again and I was watching people, it was amazing. Everyone had their phones with flashlights on. It was an incredible atmosphere,” Nurhan explained.

Nurhan also thanked her husband and child for waiting and suffering for so long. “We cried a little at home too, so to speak. It was worth it. It was a joy,” Nurhan said. He is not tired of wishing for the good, because that is what he dreamed of, so that people would like what he does. He hasn’t had time to answer them all yet, but he intends to do so.

Nurhan also recalled last week’s shopping trip, where people came to talk to him and he couldn’t even walk. “If I want, I’ll wear glasses and a hat, so no one will know it’s me,” Nurhan laughed.

Nurhan started his singing career relatively late, because according to him singing career was not a career at all. “Dad’s opinion is dad’s opinion. /…/ Unfortunately, the common mentality of the Turkish middle class. Go to the best high school, the best university. Learn everything, get a master’s degree. I did everything, but then,” Nurhan said.

Nurhan’s father once even broke one of his guitars. “He was just a little person. Unfortunately. Like a wall. He had a very specific opinion,” Nurhan explained.
