Arsenal achieved an important victory in England and closed the gap on the league leaders

Brazilian Gabriel opened Arsenal’s scoring in the 11th minute. In the 37th minute, Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson scored an unfortunate own goal. The first half also ends with Arsenal leading 2-0.

Just before the quarter-hour mark, Leandro Trossard extended the home team’s lead. Gabriel Martinelli scored two more goals in the extra minutes of the match, securing a five-goal victory for Arsenal.

The big Londoner occupies third place in the standings with 43 points. Manchester City and Aston Villa have the same number of points together. City, however, played one game less. First place goes to 45-eyed Liverpool, who visit Bournemouth on Sunday. Crystal Palace continues in 14th place with 21 points.

There’s another Premier League fixture on Saturday when Brentford host Nottingham at 7.30pm.
