Artificial intelligence company OpenAI has changed its mind and is now working with the Pentagon

Anna Makanju, the AI ​​company’s vice president of international relations, said at this year’s World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, that the company is already working with the Pentagon on open-source cybersecurity software and plans to apply it to preventing veteran suicides, Bloomberg reports.

While military use was previously expressly prohibited, ChatGPT, for example, finds a sub-template specifically aimed at the Air Force to help military personnel draft documents and write letters. The OpenAI language model is also used in defense force recruitment.

However, Microsoft, which as the largest investor in an artificial intelligence startup has invested more than 13 billion dollars, has been collaborating with the US Department of Defense for years on the implementation of artificial intelligence.
