Estonian basketball player Anna Gret Asi and Oklahoma State earned their first win of the season against a ranked opponent Sunday night when they defeated TCU 67:59 away from home.

Oklahoma State escaped quickly and took a 39-25 halftime lead, TCU’s first losing half of the season. However, TCU, ranked 23rd in the NCAA Student League, was able to make up the deficit and get within four points early in the decisive quarter, but then regained the lead and ultimately earned a 67-59 (17 :12, 22: 13, 10:20, 18:14) victory.

Four Cowgirls players reached double figures, the most productive of them being Praise Egharevba who collected 14 points. Anna Gret Asi spent 35 minutes on the court, during which she contributed nine points, six assists, three layups and three interceptions.

Oklahoma State held TCU to 30% shooting from the field and dominated the rim, winning the battle on the boards 44-33. The Cowgirls scored 38 points from behind the basket, while TCU only scored 12.

Oklahoma State, 9-5, faces Texas Tech next Thursday and Kansas on Sunday. They will face No. 10 Texas late in the afternoon on Jan. 20.
