One of the most influential voices of American progressives Atlantic he greeted Christians at Christmas by saying that, compared to diversity, Christian nationalism is even worse.

Authors Tim Albertawho according to him comes from a Presbyterian family, states that “Christian nationalism” is gaining ground both in the Church – meaning the community of different Christian confessions – and in the Republican Party.

Describes how churches and religious leaders in the United States, from Jerry Falwell Sr-It’s Kuni Paola Bianco‘ini has struggled for the last half century to “use the Gospel as a weapon.” Weaponizing your word of faith is made easier by exploiting the cultural insecurities of your foolish fellow believers for political, career, and financial gain. This, in turn, makes the gospel of Jesus Christ a caricature in the eyes of unbelievers. If the unbelieving neighbors of such believers think that senseless evangelism is not their problem, they are not wrong.

The crux of the current crisis is not just that the message of Christ has been distorted, but that the Church has become extreme. Examples of extremism include Alberta Christians’ dissatisfaction with church closures in the time of Covid, “conspiracy theory-fueled” doubts about Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory, deliberately spread misinformation about “vaccines” and reluctance to teach children cultural notions Marxism, homosexuality and gender reassignment. The religious right “exploits” Christians’ fear that the state apparatus will mobilize against Christians and pose a threat to American democracy.

Furthermore, the author accuses believers with “better political opinions” of wanting to abolish the boundary between church and state. An example is provided Donald Trumpwho recently suggested that the United States prioritize Christian immigrants and Vladimir Putinwhich exploits the Russian Orthodox Church.

Finally, Alberta insists that Christians must be tolerant, otherwise it is not possible to build a democratic and diverse society.

Christian nationalism (Christian nationalism) is one of the talking points coined by the Progressive Cult Joint Party that has been at the center of political debate in the United States lately.
