From a container lined with a regular plastic bag, organic waste slides more easily into the garbage truck and the possibility that the container will not be emptied decreases. Before the organic waste reaches the composting site, the plastic bags are separated from the organic waste.
The waste hauler will begin installing regular plastic bags in the containers starting January 12. The measure is temporary and biodegradable protection bags will continue to be used when the hot season arrives.
