Representative of the Turkish political party Saadet Hasan Bitmes collapsed while speaking at Tuesday’s parliamentary session. According to the Anadolu news agency, he was participating in a budget debate as his party’s spokesman when he suddenly felt ill on the podium and collapsed.
Other MPs, including doctors, immediately administered first aid to the 54-year-old and called an ambulance. Bitmes underwent a long cardiac massage and the emergency workers who arrived in the parliament hall took him on a stretcher to hospital. It is known that his condition is serious and he is in intensive care.
