After the spectacular opening ceremony in the heart of Tartu, “Everything is one!”, an open-air rave with free entry will take place in front of the ERM, where headliner SIGMA will present his new album “London Sound” for the first time.
SIGMA’s third album, which has twice topped the UK singles chart, will be released on the same day as the European Capital of Culture title year Tartu 2024.
According to Heigo Teder, the main organizer of the opening of the titled year, the beginning of the cultural capital means entertainment, festivals and world-class artists both day and night. “The opening celebrations of Tartu 2024 will be marked by the world’s biggest SIGMA performance in a large-scale open-air rave at the ERM. Significantly, the first official party of the new album from British dance music stars ‘London Sound’ take place in Tartu.
Teder adds that the name SIGMA needs no further introduction for fans of cuttingly deep yet melodic bass music: “Their hits rule both the radio charts and secret rave parties at the same time. On the night of January 26th they will come all the most famous classics were played. It is in Tartu that the freshest things in the world are presented.” According to Teder, in Tartu there is room for everyone, both day and night, both for culture and for parties.
Among others, Take That, Paloma Fede, Small book, Little bird, John Newmann AND Quavothey remixed artists Ellie Gouldingi, Eric Prydzi, Skepta and the creations of many others. Their songs “Nobody to Love” and “Changing” reached number one in the UK singles chart in 2014. At the Tartu 2024 open-air rave, SIGMA will perform a DJ set.
The Minister of Culture will also perform at the outdoor rave Heydy Purge, Emily Makis and Hi-Phi (also from Great Britain) e Sound within noise AND olive grovewith whom he collaborates MC Slin.
