Elfyn Evans, unexpectedly injured, has to miss an important event

Evans revealed on social media this afternoon that doctors are not advising him to fly because he injured his ribs when he fell off his bike. “I’m sorry that I can’t attend the awards ceremony in Baku today. Unfortunately a few days ago I fell while cycling and hurt my ribs. I was advised not to travel by plane. I hope everyone has a nice evening , especially my Toyota teammates who will be picking up several awards today,” Evans wrote on X.

Evans, 34, finished second in the World Series for the third time in his career. His teammate Kalle Rovanperä won the World Cup title for the second year in a row. Furthermore, the Toyota team won the world team title.

Evans has won eight World Rally Championships in his career and will be part of Toyota’s ranks from 2020.
