First Starliner Astronauts Complete Final Rehearsal Ahead of Launch
      
NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams concluded a comprehensive dress rehearsal in preparation for their upcoming mission aboard Boeing's Starliner spacecraft set for no earlier than May 6, as confirmed by agency officials on Friday (April 26) following the successful completion of the rehearsal.
      
"Wilmore and Williams went through a series of crucial launch day tasks, including donning their spacesuits, engaging in a flight deck simulation, and operating the necessary software for the mission," NASA officials stated in a blog post released on Friday (April 26).
      
The rehearsal occurred at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Orlando, Florida, and involved a detailed countdown procedure with the Starliner spacecraft atop the United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket, which will transport them to the International Space Station (ISS).
      
The Crew Flight Test (CFT) for one week received approval from NASA during its latest flight readiness review on Thursday (April 25). This mission, the first with astronauts onboard the Starliner, aims to certify the spacecraft for extended six-month missions to the ISS, potentially commencing in 2025.
