NASA’s Upcoming Launch of NOAA’s GOES-U Mission
NASA is gearing up for the launch of NOAA’s GOES-U (Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite U) mission, aimed at enhancing weather observing and environmental monitoring capabilities on Earth, as well as advancing space weather observations.
Launch Details
NASA and SpaceX have set a two-hour launch window starting at 5:16 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, June 25. The mission will lift off on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Mission Objectives
The satellite will be equipped with a range of instruments for advanced imagery, atmospheric measurements, real-time mapping of lightning activity, and the detection of space weather hazards. This includes a new compact coronagraph to image the Sun’s outer atmosphere and identify coronal mass ejections.
Media Accreditation
Media interested in covering the GOES-U launch must apply for media accreditation. Deadlines for accreditation are as follows:
- U.S. media and U.S. citizens representing international media must apply by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 7.
- International media without U.S. citizenship must apply by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28.

Moroccan students imitate the works of the pioneers of plastic modernity and symbols of plastic art in the country. Their paintings are received by the gallery of the Rabat Regional Center for Education and Training.
The exhibition will feature paintings that imitate the works of prominent artists such as Farid Belkahia, Djilali Gharbaoui, Muhammad Al-Melihi, Malika Akznai, Shuaibiya Talal, Hassan Al-Kalawi, Bouchti Al-Hayani, Muhammad bin Ali Al-Rabati, and other figures of plastic art in the country.
