“The energy revolution is underway in Europe and everyone has the same key questions on the table: how to ensure the energy security of the country and the region, increase energy efficiency and accelerate the introduction of green technologies. In Estonia, it is important now agree on a long-term strategy and clear direction on energy issues to choose the best possible scenario,” Patrikainen said in the ABB podcast.
According to him, in recent years technologies have developed very rapidly and solutions exist. “Estonia has both resources, land and know-how. If the vision is realized, we will be able to use our resources in the best possible way to become a regional center of competence in the rapidly growing sector of energy efficiency and bring large investments here industrial,” said Patrikainen, underlining that one of the first important steps is that in Estonia we have a sufficient amount of energy produced from renewable energy sources.
