Louisiana Crawfish Festival runs from 5 pm on Thursday and Friday and from 11 am during the weekend. Admission to the festival is free on Thursday, on Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday.
Children will love carnival games with flashing lights, which challenge youngsters’ skills to pop balloons, throw rings, or shoot hoops. The Arts and Crafts fair offers everything from cups and straw hats to home decor items, license plates, and key chains. Live music lineups include many acts by local musicians and those from the neighboring states, like Rick Mocklin, Nola Rouge, Nashville South, Chase Tyler Band, Faith Becnel, the Music Krewe, Voodoo Gumbo, The Chee Weez, and MoJEAUX.
Shrimp boats and oyster luggers fishing at bayous are part of Louisiana’s heritage. The annual Louisiana Crawfish Festival is celebrating this heritage every March at the Sigur Cultural Center (St. Bernard Parish Government Complex site) in Chalmette, Louisiana. Founded in 1975, the festival has become one of the significant tourist attractions of the state.
