French farmers consider a national protest | foreign country

France’s largest farmers’ union, the FNSEA, is planning a nationwide demonstration in the coming weeks.

There have already been demonstrations in many parts of France. In Toulouse in southwestern France, for example, angry farmers blocked roads and threw manure at government buildings this week.

In the central French city of Limoges, farmers dumped waste in front of the municipal building.

“We will continue our action to put more pressure on Macron, who spoke here one night without saying a word about agriculture. We have been suffering for 20 or 40 years and more. We are trying to make ourselves heard with harsh actions such as teal blockades, ” said a protester near Toulouse.

Now the FNSEA is considering expanding the protests nationwide.

The reasons for the demonstration are dissatisfaction with the tax imposed on tractor engine fuel and opposition to low-cost imports.

The FNSEA will decide to organize a national demonstration on Thursday next week after meeting with local representatives of the union and representatives of various agricultural sectors, it announced. France24.

Last weekend, German farmers protested against economic repression.
