The winter holidays in Switzerland are over, which means the second half of the season is in full swing. Zurich Grasshopper, returning from the break, lost the first match of the new year 0:1.
This year, Estonian Junior of the Year Maksim Paskoči, who worked mainly as a winger, started as a central defender against Young Boys, the leading club of the Swiss Premier League, Soccernet.ee reports.
Although Grasshopper managed to keep the cage empty in the first half, the only goal of the match was scored in the 73rd minute. Young Boys midfielder Donat Rrudhani, who was free in the guests’ penalty area, received a pass, turned the ball over and threw the ball into the net between two defenders.
Grasshopper has accumulated 21 points in 19 games, occupying eighth place in the 12-team league. Paskoči, who moved from England to Switzerland in the autumn, has played 11 league matches this season, in four of which he came on as a substitute.
