GUIDE ⟩ Money for the black sheep

Hundreds of people paid an advance of 153 euros to the company, but now, years later, few have seen the electricity cable. Most have neither money nor internet. Bad people turned to the Consumer Disputes Commission, and, for example, on October 26 last year, the commission made six decisions at once, all of them forcing the company to refund money to consumers. But so far this has not happened, and therefore the Agency for Consumer Protection and Technical Supervision (TTJA) has blacklisted Eesti Andmesidevõrgu AS.

But not even one arm of the state knows what the other is doing. If you don’t get money from the company, could you give them some money instead? Perhaps with the help of further financial support it will be possible to bring the electricity cable to the doors of all those who are waiting? Thought, done. Last week the state center for support services published a list of those who received subsidies in euros for laying electricity cables in rural areas. Other beneficiaries of support include Eesti Andmesidevõrgu AS, which received €1.32 million. This is despite the fact that the company is on the TTJA blacklist. As an interesting nuance, we recall that the self-participation rate of the support is only 5%, which means that Eesti Andmesidevõrgu AS only has to find 69,617 euros.
