The 23-year-old Norwegian won the award ahead of superstars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham.
The jury that made the selection was made up of more than 30 famous football stars. The choice was made, among others, by former celebrities such as Francesco Totti, Iker Casillas and Luis Figo.
Haaland won the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and FA Cup with Manchester City last season and scored a total of 52 goals in 53 games.
“Manchester City is a fantastic club and I really enjoy playing for them,” Haaland said after receiving the award.
Haaland was recently placed second in the FIFA World Player of the Year award behind Messi, who also won the Ballon d’Or last year.
