Health Lanes Manager: A little breakup week won’t take away a piece of | Healthy sports

Assar Jõepera, head of the Estonian Health Trails Foundation, told ERR that ski slopes across Estonia are still ready for skiing despite the thaw, and conditions should be better for skiers by Sunday.

If a week ago it seemed that we could not wish for a winter with more snow and the pleasure of skiing being perfect, the thaw that has occurred has brought a new reality. Like skiers, slope instructors also need to adapt. Conditions differ from region to region in Estonia, but ski lovers can easily find information about slopes and slope conditions.

“If it is thaw time, the thin layer of snow that has fallen now must be covered with a tractor or a snow roller. So that when minus degrees arrive on Sunday, the snow layer will be stable,” explains Jõepera.

“Terviserajad.ee can find the latest information from the track masters under the tracks, and you can definitely be guided by this. Enthusiasts who go there also post the information. You can easily see the information there,” he added.

There is no agreed time when track masters will update information. “Usually in the morning after runway maintenance, the information is posted. This is the latest information you can get,” said foundation head Eesti Terviserajad.

This year, winter started early, but according to Jõepera it has become a trend in recent years. “Last year too, winter surprised us in mid-November. The slope masters and skiers are used to it. I think that if there is such a short thaw of a week, it won’t affect anyone. It should be minus degrees on Sunday and everyone in Estonia should be able to ski happily,” he concluded.
