According to the latest report by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, last year witnessed a record number of infections, and this year shows no signs of improvement.

Leptospirosis manifests with a wide range of symptoms such as fever, headache, chills, muscle aches, vomiting, diarrhea, and cough. However, if left untreated it can escalate into severe complications including kidney failure,
