“From the beginning I was very skeptical that it was possible to save millions by cutting civil servants. Of course, there are things here and there, but the Estonian public sector is still very thin and finding fundamental savings is not an adequate goal,” Ossinovski said.
Ossinovki added that, of course, it is possible to reduce expenses, but in most cases these are not bureaucratic expenses, but expenses for substantial activities carried out by the state.
“We pay some subsidies, we finance solidarity healthcare and many other areas – in fact it is possible to put forward proposals to reduce the responsibility of the state, but I, as a social democrat, do not agree,” he explained.
