Ice is as slippery as glass…

It’s true, the thaws also fail, which have made the snow layer almost non-existent. But then the snowmills start working again at great speed, and the whole earth is covered with a thick white carpet. Even so often that it takes time and effort to clean the streets.

There is no evil without good and no good without evil. In today’s newspaper you will be able to read about how the last thaw and the subsequent cold have made the roads and streets so slippery that it is difficult for people to remain standing while moving. In fact, it is so difficult that dozens of people who fell on a slippery slope and were injured made it to the trauma center of the Kuressaare hospital.

Speaking of cheerful things related to winter: before Carnival, on February 10, a snow-covered city will rise again in Kuressaare. So it’s worth keeping your fingers crossed that the next thaw doesn’t last long.

For some time now you can have fun on the ice rinks built by rescuers in the country, but in Kuressaare this winter there was no such opportunity. Fortunately, the ice in the moat is now thick enough to allow skating tours. It is hoped that after the imminent thaw, when it becomes cold again, an ice rink can be built on the Kudjape basketball court. Many of us probably wished we could put our skates back on after a long time.
