“Is business over now?” Even though an abandoned Funderbeam makes trading impossible, investors see places to buy

The Funderbeam trading platform, which attracted the attention of private investors a few years ago during the investment boom with rapidly rising unit prices, now seems to have disappeared from sight. The lack of retail investors is illustrated by a significant decrease in trading turnover across the entire platform. The trading turnover of almost 15 million euros in 2021 became a trading turnover of almost two million euros by 2023. Furthermore, the share price of several companies dropped significantly.

It can be assumed that the corona virus and the war that has devastated the economy in recent years have contributed to the loss of popularity. But Funderbeam’s decision to end public fundraising a year ago is certainly not insignificant either. The decision was made primarily to restrict investments, leaving retail investors the opportunity to trade in the secondary market.
