In 2024, the Estonian economy will continue to decline and unemployment will increase, entrepreneur Enn Veskimägi is convinced. She finds that the government does nothing to change anything and only cares about the state budget.
“Already in September 2022 I warned that things would get worse,” Veskimägi said in a conversation with Delovõje Vedomosti, looking ahead to 2024. “Then the price of electricity increased and instead of the usual 12,000 euros, in our two plants there were turnover 79,000 euros. I immediately said that there will be a crisis, closures of companies, bankruptcies. But no one listened to me. The government doesn’t listen to entrepreneurs at all.”
