With the Swedish leg of the World Cup scheduled for two weeks after the Lapland Rally, the winter showdown around Rovaniemi will be a good test race for Rovanperä.
Rovanperä card reader Jonne Halttunen did not want to confirm this news 100% yet, although according to several Finnish publications this is quite certain.
“Certainly there have been such plans, but I don’t know if anything has been blocked. I know exactly our World Cup schedule, but there is uncertainty regarding small competitions, tests and so on,” Halttunen said, reports Rallit.fi.
In the list of those registered for the Lapland rally there is also another driver of strong international level. Russian rally driver Nikolai Grjazin, who currently competes under the Bulgarian flag, participates in a Citroen C3 Rally2.
The Lapland Rally will take place on the 2nd and 3rd. in February.
