For the children of Lääne Nigula, attending an attractive school has become more expensive

In the autumn the municipality of Lääne Nigula made parents pay more for their children’s amateur education, but in December it still slightly increased support for private hobby schools. The major reorganization came into force already in the autumn in the municipality of Lääne Nigula and brought with it two further important changes: for each child the municipality now supports study only in a hobby school and the principle of support for municipal hobby education.

Estonian-Swedes are preparing for a big party

At the beginning of July the Estonian-Swedes will hold their fifth song festival in Haapsalu, which will be made special by Estonia’s largest hiiu kandle orchestra and a choral suite composed of old songs. The song festival which will take place on July 6 in the bishop’s castle of Haapsalu is entitled “Far and Closer” and brings together 600-700 singers, dancers and musicians from Estonia, Sweden and Finland.
