“At the end of last year, in the public sector in various ministries a relatively large number of bonuses and additional payments were paid. If we proportionally cut the operating costs for each ministry, it would be possible to obtain these 10 million euros with such a small saving on operating costs,” he said.
“Such small savings of each ministry should not paralyze the activities of any ministry,” Läänemets added.
According to Läänemets, finding 10 million would also give the opportunity to start negotiations with teachers regarding the collective agreement, i.e. the salary increase for the next three years.
“There, it seems to me, there is a common vision in the coalition, so that the Minister of Education can restart the negotiations by involving the municipalities and also discussing the plan to reform the school network,” he said.
