According to Klum, the idea for a remake of Corey Hart’s 1984 song “Sunglasses At Night” came from a night spent with Tiësto. Working with a world-famous DJ was the realization of a long-time dream for Heidi. “For me, Tiësto is like an EDM god… I’m his biggest fan,” she admitted to Billboard.
“The fact that she said yes to me made me so proud and extremely happy,” Klum shared her feelings. At Klum’s suggestion, Tiësto didn’t hesitate for a moment and was immediately ready to participate in the project. “It was natural that I wanted to help him produce,” Tiësto said.
Klum, known for her fast pace of life and dedication to her career, admitted that although she may have visited the best nightclubs in the world during her life, she has never been much of a party girl. “I didn’t go out much because I was always tired,” she recalled of her early years.
Now Klum can enjoy the nightlife while her kids are with ex-husband Seal. “At 50, I go out more than a lot of 20-year-olds,” she says. Klum admits that she likes to party all night because she doesn’t want to be a boring mom who goes to bed at 10.30pm.
The new single “Sunglasses At Night” is not only a creative outlet for Klum, but also an opportunity to combine her passion for fashion and entertainment. Furthermore, the song will also be the theme song for the new season of the popular TV show “Germany’s Next Top Model” hosted by Klum.
