Luis Vasquez known as La Luna Morbida has died | Music

Luis Vasquez (20.10.1979 – 19.01.2024), better known by his artist name The Soft Moon, left us at the age of 44.

Luis Vasquez was born in Los Angeles and played in several punk bands for many years, he founded the one-man project The Soft Moon in 2009. The inspiration of the band were, among others, the groups Suicide and Joy Division.

Soft Moon released their first single “Breathe the Fire” on Captured Tracks in 2010, with their self-titled debut album released a year later. In total, The Soft Moon have released five albums, in addition to the debut album “Zeros” (Captured Tracks, 2012), “Deeper” (Captured Tracks, 2015), “Criminal” (Sacred Bones Records, 2018) and Exister”. (Sacred Bones Records, 2022).

Soft Moon have performed twice in Tallinn, the first time in 2015 and the last time last April. In an interview with Stina Elisabeth Gavrilini last year, Vasques said that The Soft Moon’s goal has always been simply personal development and that the more difficult the process, the greater the reward for him.
