Many tour packages will be sold out by next week. Travel agencies explain the situation

According to Kädi Puparti, marketing manager at Go Travel, the demand for package tours has increased. She explained that the beginning of the year is increasingly active in terms of planning, including booking travel. They ask for last minute offers and book summer trips.

The greatest demand concerns tourist packages in Egypt, Tenerife and the United Arab Emirates. Further travel to Asia and other distant destinations, Pupart pointed out.

Novatours marketing manager Olev Riisberg said that although it can be assumed that the teachers’ strike will create the opportunity for a short holiday, travel packages for the strike week are mostly sold out. Currently, according to him, a significant flow of requests is not expected for next week.

Riisberg pointed out that the long, bleak winter weather and the desire to fly to enjoy the sun and pleasures of the beach played an important role in the booking of package tours. She added that opportunities to travel to warm places have also been taken advantage of by many digital nomads who can work remotely.

TEZ Tour sales and marketing manager Jelena Gavronski also said the teachers’ strike had no particular effect on their sales. However, there are also requests for next week’s departures.

Currently, according to Gavronski, all the departures that occur during the teachers’ strike have already sold out a few weeks ago. During the winter season, Estonians prefer Egypt as a destination.

Katrin Aaslaid, marketing manager at Estravel, said that based on the sales figures of these package tours, it can be said that the teachers’ strike has not increased demand for the moment. Interest is more tepid than at the same time last year, she added. The most popular destinations for package trips are currently Egypt, the Canary Islands and Thailand.
