Charter flights from Miami to Cienfuegos, in southern Cuba, return. One of the most popular air routes between Cuba and the United States will be reactivated on March 1, thanks to the collaboration between Havanatur and Word Atlantic, the media reported.
This route not only connects Cuba and Venezuela, but also three other countries that are interested in establishing links with central Cuba. The airport has all the conditions to receive the expected visitors, according to National Television.
According to Periódico Cubano, these are charter flights that will directly connect the “Jaime González” Airport, in the Cuban province of Cienfuegos, with the city of Miami, in southern Florida, United States. These flights would operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays at noon, and represent an important advance, since until now, residents had to travel to Santa Clara.
The “Jaime González” Airport has the capacity to receive small and medium-sized aircraft, and has an asphalt runway 2,400 meters long and 50 meters wide. This airport not only serves Cienfuegos, but also the entire south-central coast of Cuba, offering connections to several destinations.
In addition, they will be able to be close to their families until the last moment, since the airport is located a few kilometers from the city center.
“We are in a position to handle the transportation of all these clients,” a representative of the Cienfuegos airport told official media.
