“The army of civil servants grows like yeast, but there is never money. There will never be money to satisfy the demands and expectations of the workers who actually run the country. But for civil servants there is plenty of it money. There is a certain gap and a question of attitude here,” says EKRE vice-president Mart Helme. “If the teachers’ strike ended with the teachers resigning without achieving anything, then I would say that it would be extremely demoralizing for Estonian society. If it seems that the teachers are sticking to their demands and there are prospects that they will be satisfied to some extent, I think it has a healing effect on society, but it also leads to more strikes.”

However, opposition members do not foresee the collapse of the coalition.
