“We found Alexei Navalny. He is located in IK-3 in the Arpa settlement of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District. A lawyer saw him today. Everything is fine with Aleksei,” Jarmõš wrote on X, Meduza reports.
Ivan Zhdanov, director of Navalny’s anti-corruption fund (FBK), said 618 requests had been made by Navalny’s associates and that lawyers had searched all pre-trial detention prisons, sometimes multiple times, to find Navalny. According to Zhdanov, IK-3 is one of the most northern and distant colonies.
“The conditions are severe, with the general regime of permafrost. It is very difficult to get there and there is no mail delivery system FSIN-pismo or Zonatelecom. The lawyer went there today. He saw Alessio. The lawyer was not not even let him in right away,” Zhdanov said.
Navalny’s lawyers, relatives and fellow fighters did not know where he was for nearly three weeks. Contact with him was lost on 6 December.
