Navalny’s allies have expressed concern about the man’s health

Navalny’s allies said his lawyers remained outside the colony all day but were not allowed in to meet him, and he failed to show up at hearings on his case.

“We learned that he had a serious medical incident last week. Navalny’s life is in grave danger. She is currently in complete isolation,” Maria Pevchik, head of Navalny’s anti-corruption fund, posted on the social media platform X.

Navalny’s spokeswoman, Kira Jarmyš, said prison staff gave him an IV last week because he was dizzy and lying on the cell floor.

“What it was, we don’t know, but given that he was deprived of food, kept in a punishment cell without ventilation, and his walking time was reduced to a minimum, it appeared that he had fainted from hunger,” he added. .

Jarmõš said that after what happened the lawyers saw Navalny and everything was relatively fine for him.

“But now the third day has passed when we don’t know where he is,” Jarmõš wrote on Friday. He added that he usually receives censored letters from Navalny, but he hasn’t received any all week.

As of Sunday there is no new information on the situation.

The Moscow court on Thursday also extended the pre-trial detention of the three lawyers representing Navalny until March 13. They were jailed in October on charges of participation in an extremist group, the Associated Press reports.
