Neither Napoli nor the Monza coach resisted until the end of the match, Inter lost points – Soccernet.ee

In the 18th round of the Italian Premier League, league leaders Inter were forced to share points when they failed to beat Genoa away. Napoli continues to struggle.

Reigning champions Napoli hosted Monza, a few positions behind, who had also suffered the pain of defeat last time. In a frenetic match full of opportunities, Napoli tried harder, making 25 shots in total, nine of which ended up on target. The corresponding numbers for Monza were eight and three.

Numbers counterbalanced by Monza, who in the 68th minute got to the spot for a handball. However, Matteo Pessina’s shot was soft and the score remained open.

This obviously does not mean that there is no lack of discussion points. At the end of the 80 minutes there was a small push between the players on the sidelines, which also ended with the expulsion of Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri. Ten minutes later, Monza coach Raffaele Palladino was also sent off for cheating, then substitute Mirko Maric was also sent off.

The victorious march of Inter, who collected three hat-tricks in four matches in a row, ended in the match against Genoa, when the first-half score was 1:1. Even taking all indicators into account, the first goal was scored in the 42nd minute, when Inter created confusion in the opponent’s area after a long-range shot and Marko Arnautovic managed to score the ball into the goal. In the seventh minute of extra time of the first half (the lion’s share was mainly due to the interruption of play caused by pyrotechnic smoke), Genoa responded with a corner kick.

With 45 points in 18 games, Inter continues to lead Serie A, five points behind Juventus, who have played fewer games. Napoli is currently only in 7th place.
