In turn, the first provincial secretary of the MPLA, in Luanda, Manuel Homem, recalled that gender discrimination in the workplace or in any other activity is a violation of the law.
The official considered, on the other hand, the training of women and girls is also an indispensable tool for advancing development and reducing poverty.
The event was attended by members of the MPLA Central Committee, municipal party secretaries and members of the political organization’s specialty committees.
Manuel Homem referred to Law 25/11 of July 14, 2011; Presidential Decree No. 124/13 of August 28, 2013 on the Regulation of the Law Against Domestic Violence and Presidential Decree No. 222/13 approving the National Policy for Gender Equality and Equity.
When speaking at the opening ceremony of the March celebrations in Luanda, dedicated to women, Luzia Policarpo also recalled all the legal instruments created by the Angolan State that defend women’s rights and guarantees.
The provincial secretary of the Angolan Women’s Organization (OMA) in Luanda, Luzia Policarpo, called, on Saturday, in the municipality of Cacuaco, for the reporting of cases of physical and psychological aggression against women, to reduce such practices in society
According to Manuel Homem, Angola approved several legal instruments that aim to promote gender equality and equity and combat gender-based violence.
