Packaging orders reflect the state of the Estonian economy, according to printing and packaging companies, whose turnover has declined in parallel with that of the processing industry.
Pakendioöstus OÜ mainly serves the processing industry and packaging can actually be an indicator of the economy, said Ants Viirmaa, director of Pakendioöstus. Packaging is necessary for practically every production and therefore packaging and printing companies have a good overview of the progress of Estonian manufacturers.
This year’s decline in Pakendiutöösö OÜ’s turnover is not large, but it is quite noticeable and has exceeded the decline in the manufacturing industry and construction sector. However, the manufacturing industry has not yet fully compacted, with the exception of the wood sector, Viirmaa noted.
“Our location in Pärnu is a bit in difficulty in this sense, because mainly small houses were built,” says Viirmaa about the wood industry.
However, if you evaluate the next year, the cooperation partners of the packaging industry, with whom we meet at the end of each year, are, according to him, cautious about the next year.
