OPEN QUESTIONS! | You too could be the next Smashing Pumpkins guitarist!

The search for a new guitarist follows Jeff Schroeder’s recent decision to leave the band, Variety reports. Schroeder, who joined Smashing Pumpkins in 2007, shared on Instagram in October that he had decided to leave the band to pursue new challenges. Furthermore, he fondly recalled his time in the band as a memorable and important period in his life.

The Smashing Pumpkins, whose founding members were Billy Corgan, James Iha, bassist Darcy Wretzky and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin in 1988, have undergone several lineup changes during their time. The only constant member over the years has been Corgan, although the band went on hiatus in 2000 and reunited in 2006.

The band have now opened their doors to a new guitarist, inviting applicants to send their CVs and portfolios to the Pumpkins’ management company. The new member has the chance to start his journey with Smashing Pumpkins in style, as the band is set to embark on “The Saviors Tour” with Green Day in 2024. Known for their innovative and experimental approach to music rock, the Smashing Pumpkins offer a new guitarist the opportunity to contribute to the band’s next creative chapter.
